I dunno if anyone but Jordan will take any interest in this, but I found some Murakami shorts online (& I generally like his short stories better than his novels, though both are great, and it may just be because of my short attention span):
* On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning
One of his most popular, from what I can tell.
* The Kangaroo Communiqué
Cutely weird, about a guy who works in the returns department of a department store and verges on stalker with a female customer who wants to return a CD. Also, kangaroos.
* The Second Bakery Attack
This was published in Playboy once, lol. I can kinda see why, even though there's no sex involved... it's very "pop," I guess?
* Lederhosen
About a mother who explains to her daughter why she divorced her husband over a pair of German shorts.
* Landscape with Flatiron
All but the last are from
The Elephant Vanishes. The last one is form
after the quake; I've yet to read it myself. (I'll do it later.)
I still haven't finished
Hard-Boiled Wonderland... though. xx; Why don't I read anymore!?!?!
Anyway, after you read that, I recommend this parody:
"The Mysterious Disappearance of the Strangely Beautiful Woman"( EDIT@0235PM )
I'm at the library now, and just read "Landscape with Flatiron"... it's REALLY good, ahh. ♥
